Lauren created LIV Yoga Institute as a result of working through her own healing from her life’s challenges and experiences. LIV Yoga is a healing, physical, and internally focused practice that also focuses on how to carry a transformative experience off the yoga mat and into daily life.
By teaching asana and breath awareness, Lauren teaches yoga from a place of having people begin to truly listen to their bodies and begin to understand what it feels like to heal and not push, to go downstream and honor themselves. With her guidance, Lauren’s students cultivate an awareness of their own practice on and off the mat, resulting in them connecting to themselves, feeling peace of mind, power and freedom.
Lauren took her first yoga class in 1996 and became a certified yoga teacher in 2001. Her extensive studies of Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Bikram Yoga over the years have given her a great blend of perspectives to look from at the body and mind.
Lauren is devoted to her practice and is an ongoing student of all limbs of the yoga practice. As a teacher, she has a passion for teaching from a place of reminding her students to be kind to themselves, that we are here to heal. Her classes focus on breath, alignment and teachings about mindset so that her students have the opportunity to transform self made limits and begin to live from a place of creating their life from scratch.
Lauren views the practice of yoga as a place where we learn to sit in the seat of ourselves, as we are, as it is. That is the yoga path! To follow our natural purpose for being here so that we can experience living as joyful. To fall in love with being alive and feel connected once again.
